Chat Room - What to do? Empty
PostSubject: Chat Room - What to do?   Chat Room - What to do? EmptyThu Jan 28, 2016 8:29 am

All of our online events are held in the forum chat room.

Where is it?
The chat room can be found at the very bottom of this forum, click on the 'Home' button at the top left hand side of the screen to ensure you are on the Home page and the scroll right down to the bottom of the page.  There you will see 'chat box' - click on the 'log in' at the top right hand corner of the chat box and you will find yourself in the chat room.

Chat Room Etiquette:

For rituals:
If you arrive before the start (which is recommended, 5 or 10 minutes before the start time) you can chat with everyone and say your hellos. At the start time the host will announce the beginning of the ritual and usually ask you to ground and centre. From this point forward please be respectful and mindful that you are in a ritual situation. Allow the host/hosts to lead the ritual without interuption. There will be parts in the ritual for you to type responses (such as 'hail and welcome' when calling in quarters etc).
Once the ritual is finished you can then chat again.
If you arrive after the ritual has started you are very welcome to stay for the remainder of it but don't introduce yourself or say hellos, just settle in quietly.

For study halls:
Although slightly less formal than a ritual please be respectful of the host and don't cause chaos...allow the host to lead the study hall and don't bombard the chat room with lots of silliness - the study halls are relaxed and friendly but...you are there to learn and the host is there to share lots of information with you.

For discussions:
Again less formal than a ritual but again be respectful of the host/hosts - they have taken time to prepare information and discussion points with you - whilst it is OK to have a laugh and make friendly comments - be mindful that the chat does move very quickly if people are joking and messing about with comments and some of the real questions and discussion points may get lost.

If you have any questions that you would like answered in a discussion or study hall before or after the event please feel free to hop on over to the Hearth Guardian section of the forum and post your question - in fact for any questions you may have please seek them out, they are there to help.

If you have any requests for specific study hall topics please let the Hearth Guardians know.
